A woman was grazed by a stray bullet as she tried to board an MTA bus in Harlem after a bus rider opened fire, police said Thursday.
Police responding to a 911 call around 8:40 p.m. found the 55-year-old victim with a wound on her hip where a bullet grazed her as she began to get on an M10 bus at W. 108th St. and Central Park West, cops said. The shooter had been riding the bus when he got into a dispute with another commuter, and let go two rounds as he was exiting, hitting the woman, who had been standing by the door, according to a police source.

“The guy was on the bus,” said a witness who did not want to be identified. “He was having words with two other people, and then there were maybe two shots. He got off and started running,” the witness said.
Later at the scene, two shell casings could be seen on the ground with evidence markers nearby.

Medics took the victim, who was conscious and alert, to Mt. Sinai – Morningside Hospital in stable condition. She is expected to recover.
The suspect was last seen running north on Central Park West, according to witnesses.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
