Staten Island pedestrian, 55, fatally struck by e-scooter rider

A 55-year-old man crossing a Staten Island street was fatally struck by an e-scooter rider, cops said Sunday.

The victim was crossing Targee St. near Pierce St. in Concord when a 25-year-old man riding an electric scooter slammed into him about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

The pedestrian wasn’t in a crosswalk, police said. That intersection has no crosswalks across Targee St.

Medics took the victim to Richmond University Medical Center but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.

The e-scooter rider, who was ejected from his ride, was in stable condition, cops said.
