Anti-ageing serum from royal-loved brand dubbed ‘facelift in a bottle’

Skincare brand Lancaster has launched a new anti-ageing serum targeting signs of photo-ageing and providing an “instant tightening and lift sensation”.

The Lancaster Golden Lift Tightening Serum works to improve skin elasticity in two weeks and reduce wrinkles and pigmentation within a month. The dual-action complex – encapsulated retinol and retinal and di-peptide complex – offers beauty fans a “non-invasive facelift” and a daily ally against photoageing. LookFantastic has the serum for £93 and with every purchase of the product, the online retailer is giving a complimentary Lancaster Golden Lift Discovery Set, which includes a pouch with travel-sized versions of the sculpting cream, eye cream and serum.

The powerful retinol and retinal accelerate collagen regeration and cell turnover to iron out wrinkles while restoring density. Environmental aggressors like UV exposures and pollution accelerate the loss of collagen, which leave the skin looking tired and weathered. While Lancaster is not the only brand that incorporates retinal, Medik8’s iconic Crystal Retinal serum (£69) has been the brand’s top seller, offering six strength levels to cater for beginners as well as experienced retinol users.

What makes the Lancaster Golden Lift Tightening Serum different than superficial fixes is its ability to “reactivate elastic fibre function” for sustained lift and contour definition. Princess Grace Kelly was reportedly a fan of Lancaster Beauty when the Monaco-based beauty brand was named “Appointed Supplier to Her Serene Highness Grace of Monaco” in the 1970s.

The new Golden Lift Tightening Serum has received positive reviews from shoppers, with one saying: “Super luxurious and perfect for my sensitive skin, zero irritation. The glow is subtle, so it looks natural and radiant, creating the perfect base for going bare-faced or even under a light makeup for summer.”

A second chimed in: “I noticed such a difference to my skin after only a few days. I woke up with visibly brighter and smoother skin, will definitely recommend.”

But the high price tag made some shoppers reconsider the purchase. One mentioned: “It’s £93 for a 30ml bottle, that is expensive even if a little goes a long way. I would rather spend £10 on a retinol product from Boots deal.”

The Paula’s Choice Pro Retinaldehyde Dual-Retinoid Treatment is a more wallet-friendly option that includes high potency retinoid to target signs of ageing with dermatologist-level results. It’s available at £63 for a 30ml size, or £14 for a 5ml travel size.

Shoppers can pick their desired retinol percentage for FaceTheory’s Retinal Supreme MultiCream, with a range of strength levels starting from 0.05%. Prices start at £39 and go up to £55 for the strongest 0.2% retinal.

For a limited time, LookFantastic shoppers can get a free Golden Lift Discovery Set along with a purchase of Lancaster Golden Lift Tightening Serum (£93).
